02-15-2009---Sorry gang... still dreaming of the beach here today. This snow really needs to go away...fighting a cold and thinking a good day on the beach would feel really good on the old achy Ohio bones!
This collage was made for my wonderful cousin Coleen. We were walking one morning looking for shells and checking turtle nests....i was following slightly behind her with the thought of getting a good footprint photo. She was oblivious to what i was doing. . . and looking so thoughtful into the water, , , that i couldn't resist getting a shot of her as well. The end result was combining the two shots with the well loved poem/verse "Footprints in the Sand" by Mary Stevenson. Being my first attempt at anything of this sort i was pleasantly surprized. I framed this print and sent it to my cousin in Arizona ( Our families met in North Carolina for vacation) she called me in tears... so touched by the collage.
It was this trip that was the turning point in my "new" career as a full time Photographer. I chucked the job in the medical field . . . followed my heart and am going where God leads.
Thank you all for your encouragement, you are all wonderful examples, mentors and friends!
Blessings!
Jilly
